The Golden Arches Theory of Conflict Prevention says that no to nations with a McDonald's franchise will ever go to full-fledged war.
In the current situation i doubt if any of the two countries would want to disrupt the pace of economic growth by going into a war.
You are right about the tactical importance of Lhasa-Beijing railroad; f it could carry tourist then it could also carry PLA men. But sadly we can't do anything about that because we have already accepted Tibet to be a part of China. The only way to beat china IMO is to focus on economic development.

hi mishraji
this was a marvelous attempt in trying to divert our thoughts towards few seemingly unimportant developments in our neighbourhood.i indeed completely believe in the existence of china's dubious plans behind construction of this totally unprofitable railway line. Seeing India's recent progress i seriously doubt that we will be upto china's mark atleast in the next forty years.
as i go back in '47 India was a force to reckon with and not to be messed with for China and today after 50 years due to poor governance and slow development the scenario has completely reversed.
however seeing the worldly developments i seriously doubt china directly going to war with India. what i fear is that china will be more bent towards creating social unrest in indian peninsular leading to communal and civil wars and disharmony.this is the biggest threat to india which will eventually completely destroy it.
