Let us convert emotional issues of Indian politics and society into rational discussion

Hopes are shattered and nightmares prevailed, UPA 250, NDA 160 : Share Your Views

lowering the flag

So, the results are out and it is exact opposite to what this blog predicted. It is a major win for congress, in every state and every part of country. All other major alliances are decisively defeated. Congress says it is a vote for development and for its crown prince Rahul Gandhi. He did revive congress in UP as promised.

Still my biggest sympathy is with BJP, which is the party I voted for. A nationalist party. It is a loss of face for BJP.
But friends, There are times in history of a nation when all seem lost and looks like wrong forces have won the final battle. But dear friends, it is just a process, which goes on and on. 5 years may be significant time period in life of a man, but in life of a nation (that too a nation like India) is just a flickr of eye.

The time after defeat is not for grief and blame-game. It is the time to introspect and start preparing to come out as winner in next battle.

Though hopes are shattered and nightmares are prevailing, the dawn will surely come. It is not the first black day of Indian history, we survived and fought back. Let us do that again.

Tell us what do you feel, comment!

so BJP is now 4th party in UP, No party has declined so fast in any state as BJP has achieved. Now they urgently need a young and energetic face to revive in UP.
Varun Gandhi might do the job.

    Mohit Says:

The main reason for defeat of BJP is that instead of having a concrete agenda of their own, they were busy finding flaws in congress’s agenda, countering that at every step.
All we can do is hope that they don’t repeat the same mistake NEXT time.

    satyanveshi Says:

A surprise for everyone I guess. Even Congress didnot expect this neither did the BJP nor did the 3rd front or 4th front. But did India really vote a positive vote for congress. I dont think so. Chidambaram lost who was both the finance and home minister. Manmohan singh did not even contest the election. Congress gained in UP on Mayawati’s expense. All BSP voters who are traditionally minority voted for Congress this time since BJP was never their choice. There was only the traditional voting percentage for BJP which was not enough to get them their seats. In Maharashtra the votes for BJP-Shiv Sena were split with Raj thakeray’s MNS and that got the extra Congress seats and loss of seats for BJP. In Kerala and West Bengal, it was a vote against the communist state governments and only alternative in people’s mind is Congress there. So it is not a positive vote for Congress or Sonia or Manmohan. Some suprises are Sad indeed and we will see India going behind the world for another 5 years probably.

    harsha Says:

I believe it is a vote for Man Mohan Singh, for all the good work, be it NREGS, RTI, Several Public private partnerships to build infrastructure, and more importantly loan waiver (which is rather a bailout for the disadvantaged populace).

    Congrats MMS and Sonia Gandhi.

Apparently, both LKA and Modi focussed too much on finding faults, and carried vilified campaign, Modi went far ahead and he should learn from Rahul Gandhi.

I’m relieved, that a stable goverment, and able leadership is going to lead the nation.

    Zahan Says:

    Ungracious in defeat indeed.
    Dear SM,
It is ironic that you should chose to use ‘girte hain sheh sawar maidan-e-jung mein, voh kya girenge jo ghutnon par shale’. Because it just so happens that that saying is taken from a ghazal, a form of poetry originating in pre-islamic arabic verse. An excellent example of the pluralist nature of India’s culture and society.
India’s past cannot, and should not be contorted and stripped to fit a hindu mould. It is objectively untrue. This great nation has been built up by a pluralist society. The traces of this diverse past greet us daily, even in your own choice of words.
Whether you like it or not, India is a diverse nation composed of people of varied faith, castes, races, whatever division you want to apply. It is my belief, that a party that seeks to aggravate these divisions to exploit to it’s own advantage should be shot down by the people.
And the ‘nationalism’ that is spoken of. That spirit has echoed in other countries around the world before. The leaders invoking those emotions are well known. Their names are Hitler and Mussolini. They too spoke of economic gains at the cost of a minority community. The names have changed, but the tactics have not. The resemblance between the fascists of yesteryear, and the Hindu right in India is very, very scary. Make no mistake, I am in no way criticizing patriotism. What I am criticizing is a divisive slogan that unites one part of the populace, at the cost of another.
The only torch that your beloved hindu right-wing militancy carries is that which it uses to burn down shops belonging to a Indian community that it was politically prudent to alienate or to torch innocent Indian civilians who may have exercised their freedom of speech in a manner that did not agree with their interests.
The politics of hate, of one-sidedness, of uncritical thinking without reason must end.
Do not close you eyes for the next five years, enforcing the darkness you speak of upon yourself. Open them, and see the bright, united future Indians have chosen for themselves.

    Raja Says:

    Hi!

A real shocker – no one guessed the undercurrents.

But worse is still to come.

I have got reports is Sri.LKA has forseen an imminent split in the party and hence has decided to put in his papers.

Moderate leaders like Jaitley, Sushma Swaraj, Yaswant Sinha, Narendra Modi, Vasundhara Raje and other youth leaders blame it on the interference of RSS in BJP matters, which have led o this debacle. Swapan Dasgupta nad Chandan Mitra had forseen he debacle and was indirectly warning the BJP/RSS top brass thru’ their blogs/articles. (www.swapan55.org). These leaders want BJP to break free from RSS clutches. According to them BJP should dictate RSS and not the other way around.

They further argue that BJP should now try to stand on its own strangth in states like AP, Haryana, Maharashtra, TN, Kerela instead of depending on allies. Though this may not bring results in 2014, but can change the situation by 2019.

Some RSS leaders had openly questioned Narendra Modi’s capabilities in getting votes and have conspired to bring down BJP tally in Gujarat.

Add to this discomfiture is the fact that INC has got 21 seats in UP ON ITS OWN and 204 seats nationally. If we add TMC and NCP sats (both being breakaway factions of INC) the total seats polled by undivided INC is 204+20+9 = 233, which is near to the magic 272 mark.

These moderate leaders fear that if INC makes a real comeback in UP by winning around 40-45 seats, Bihar would not be far behind. In that case INC back to helm on its own.

In fact RSS interefence is mainly responsible for the bebacle in UP, Gujarat, Delhi, Uttarakhand, MP, Orissa and Rajasthan. Unpopular sitting MPs were renominated against the wishes of central committee.

If BJP still continues with its dependence on RSS – BJP is sure of a split.

in last five years bjp was like a potato in cold storage there leaders were not connected to public .
first and foremost bjp should ask its leaders to work with the people in all ares .
fight for the rights of the hindus in all ares whether there is grounf for bjp or not.
    make hindus prouds of themself.
work with the important people of each caste in hindus give them some responsibilities .
to make a necklace all pearls has to be put in single thread . to make a strong bjp and a strong nation all castes of the religion should be woven in single thread .

and wew need both thread and pearls to be strong .
to make thread and pearls strong we need to build strong caste based society with the high value in there hearts for the strong feeling for hindutva .
and try arrange the coalition of big castes in each state for bjp like lingayat brahmin etc in karnataka. because this will enable bjp candidates in any strong anti bjp wave also. work for hindutva is good but that some people should feel him closer that somepeople should be enough to get that winning in mla or mp elections

    Hari Says:

First it appears that there is another Person with my name blogging.
The BJP should do some serious introspection. I believe that some of the points given below should be seriously be debated by the party.
    1. The BJP assumed that the massive price rise and general economic downturn will mean that the Congress will suffer the effect of being the incumbent at this time. The results have shown that the people also weigh the alternative and have considered the Congress better suited to manage the situation. This is amply reflected in the results to the seats of UT of Delhi.
    2. The power of poppulism has been grossly underestimated by the BJP. The NREGA sceme has helped the Congress in states where they have ruled and also the loan waiver in many places more particularly AP and Vidharba.
    3. The main opposition party must not depend on a negative vote as then it may be shared by other parties who thus split the vote of the opposition. It is necessary to build a positive vote that can be got only by promising goodies and delivering them. The BJP must do this to ensure that the states that they rule are not lost the next time.
    4. The dismal failure at Rajasthan can be attributed to the perception that the party has played a political game by pitting the Gujjars against the Meenas. The numerically larger Meenas completely ditched the party mainly due to Kirori Lal Meena’s exit from the party and subsequently by the party giving ticket to Col. Bainsla.
    5. The party should have accomodated the BJD even it meant playing second fiddle. The final tally of the party has suffered immensely due to the its over expectation in Orissa.
    6. The advent of parties like BSP has meant that Five star class leaders cannot get votes in UP by simply bombarding them with loud speakers during election time. There must be greater connect to the Rural masses. Rahul Gandhi has managed a near miracle by his methods. Although this performance is temporary the Congress has now a chance to deliver to the people.
    6. A major portion of the Champaign of Mr.L.K.Advani has been spent on projecting Dr. Manmohan Singh as a weak PM and presented himself as a Potentially strong PM. For whatever reason this has hardly caught the imagination of the masses and the events like the Kandahar hijack that happened during Advani’s term as Home Minister hardly helped his champaign as the opposition was quick to point out them. The common man hardly cares whether the PM is strong or weak. He is concerned with his bread and butter issues.
7.The Power of poppulism has been amply proven many times over in Tamil Nadu. The Rs. 1 per KG of rice coupled with the Vijaykanth factor has helped the DMK even though there was a general uneasiness among the not so downtrodden over the power crisis and family rule.
    8. The BJP must really search out as to how they were decimated in Uttarakhand a state that they were in power and should have expected to do well. There is no better recipe than the intention to do good governance as can be seen in the results in Bihar where even Paswan was humbled.
    9. In Maharashtra the losses in Mumbai and its suburbs were largely due to Raj Thackeray. This should have been anticipated in advance.
    10. The huge hopes in Haryana were all proved wrong. The alliance did not work well on the ground.
    11. Modi has also failed to deliver Gujarat to the extent expected and this could be explained partly to the choice of candidates and partly to his trying to cut the Patel lobby to size.

Thus said it is sad that the very person who set the BJP on its path of revival had to bite the dust when it came to his own election. The BJP now needs a new leader (not any one current set up) who can communicate with the masses. The BJP could do well to wait for its time and begin its new sojourn at the appropriate time.

You can say BJP has done lot of mistakes. I think, BJP has done only one mistake, BJP should go alone in AP,TN,WB, Kerala and Orissa and should create big problem for Amma, TDP and Mamta.

    Kal Says:

BJP has no presence in AP. In this election, no BJP candidate campaigned in A.P to the extent that other party candidates. It is the responsibility of BJP candidates to bring the manifesto of the BJP to the people. Even educated people/house wives in AP have no idea of what BJP stands for. very few ads in newspaper/TV’s were carried out in the media. Even new party loksatta candidates were covered more than the BJP candidates in print and tv. Loksatta chief JP appears regularly in local channels. The more people know about BJP, the more are the chances that they will get converted to votes. BJP should selectively target urban pockets all district headquarters and educated people in AP. Most people are tired of rampant religious conversions but they are turning a blind eye. They want to align themselves with winning party although they are not benefited by COngress policies like Musilm reservations/2 rs rice scheme etc. It is those people who BJP should targe. BJP should start gaining some presence in the coming Municipal elections by having strong cadre. If Loksatta and PRP can poll so many thousands of votes, why not BJP? All disenchanted educated voters voted for Loksatta. BJP should soften hindutva stance especially in AP by appearing more acceptable to educated voters. Identify areas where educated people live. Do door to door campaigning. Don’t care about TDP. TDP’s strength will be reduced after 5 more years of rule. This is the time when BJP can start showing its presence. TV and Print Media should be used. This requires huge sums of money.

  53. 53
    Hari Says:

    Raj,
No need to be over emotional. While most of us in this blog who were hoping to see BJP do much better are greatly disappointed we must get shattered and the need of the hour is to maintain calm and see how the situation evolves. The Congress can hope for a smooth run for atleast a year but mind you the economic situation is quite bad and may not change drastically in the next 1 year. The Govt. will have to to take hard decisions and the prospect of the fiscal deficit touching double digits in percentage terms means that the road ahead will be very painful.
The BJP must set its house in order and try to add masses based issues along with its core issues. Like the death of a grand patriach L.K.Advani’s exit fromn the national scene is bound to shake the foundations of the party with no clear second line leader and that includes Narendra Modi. For a party that rose from the ashes of 1984 and the insecure neighbourhood that we live in opputunities are bound to come for rebuilding the collapsed edifice.

    vibha Says:

BJP has no presence in half of the states in India. They should improve their presence in WB, TN and kerela. They should also improve in UP. Modi, Jaitley or even Nithish could lead NDA. In fact by using the face of Nithish, they can hold him with NDA.

    Hi All.
Just I have gone through the series of communications going on.. First I need to congratulate the Congress for winning the election. The good thing is that they will now have all the full power to start developing the country without any constarints from Left, third or fourth. If they will done, they will occupy the parliaments for next few decades..
Secondly, this results shows a huge blow for BJP. Now their time to start analysing the raeson for loss in this election. They all need to restructure the whole team. My suggestion is that they will bring back Uma bharathi and give a good position and a constructive role for the development of BJP. Also they need to develop a good candidate for the party. Also they need to concentarte on youth which will definitely help the party. I will go with Sushma Swaraj. But I need the election only in 2014…

Hindu is secular hence our pluralism is a truth, you bet if most of our forefathers had given in to the Sultanate long back, this would have been a Taliban area for sure. And we would have been living under drones and AK-47s.
As far as the BJP is concerned, inspite of the defeat, insipite of the fact that the media abhors them…we still consider it to be our political vent…long live the hindu-right..long live BJP

    1. It is the third succesive general election that the BJP’s strength has declined. From 182 to 138 to 116 now. It took fifty years for Congres to decline..it took just ten years to BJP to decay.

Clearly something is seriously wrong with the policies of BJP.

2.Every political party which backstabbed Congress was punished by God and the people of India.

    1. PDP in Kashmir withdrew support to Cong govt in Kashmir. Look what happened. PDP got ZERO seats.

    2. JMM tried to blackmail COng several times. It got drubbed in Jharkand.

    3. RJD backstabbed Cong. RJD nosedived from 22 to 4

    4. Paswan backstabbed Cong. Paswan got a BIG ZERO.

    5. Left parties withdrew support to Cong. they came sliding down from 60 t0 25

    6. PMK enjoyed the fruits of power in centre for 5 years and ditched Congress at the last minute. they got a big ZERO.

    7. TRS got off the UPA govt. midway, leaving Cong in the lurch. TRS got a severe drubbing in Andhra.

8.NCP was playing games with Cong, and flirting with Shiv Sena. NCP’s tally came down from last time. COng emerged biggest player in Maharashtra.

    9. Samajwadi Party backstabbed Cong and SPs seats fell from 35 to 23

Those who stood behind Congress like a rock benefitted.

DMK incrased its seats from 16 to 18
TMC increased its seats ffrom 1 to 19
NC increased its seats from 2 to 3

There are many positives overall of this outcome…. regional players are marginalized(in 2004, combined tally of BJP+congress was around 280… this time 325)… country is moving towards bipolar system… and if people try to work, they cannot be stopped by red flag bearers… and most importantly… its not the level of mandate that Congress party should become ‘NIRANKUSH’…
Even though BJP lost the election, some one has well said… importance of victory is best felt by the looser…

Now the BJP has clear 5 years to work for expanding base in Orissa and AP, most importantly without any ally, so the freedom of thought… rediscover itself in UP… try to penetrate in TN, WB and Kerela.

Well said AKS. Raj has gone completely beserk. It will do more harm than good to the BJP cause by such comments. There is alaways time to improve and that can be done only by introspection. Evidently there was something wrong for the result to be this bad for the BJP.
Like you said the positives for the nation are that the utter regional biased demands of thses smaller parties will be largely reduced. The extreme anti BJPism practised by many parties also opposded to Congress has actually helped the Congress and they may have to reorient their outlook to the BJP.
The BJP has over 100 seats and will have to perform the role of the principal opposition unlike last time when the left although supporting the Govt. appeared to be the main opposition party.

BJP should seriously consider expanding its presence in A.P. This state has all the elements that suit to rebuild BJP. TDP is in shatters. PRP is a no show. Activate the cadre throughout the state. Votes polled is around 3.75% this time. Concentrate on telangana areas. TRS has lost credibility among the electorate. Highlight the problems faced by common people especially roads, water and electricity. Let the electorate know about the river linking and Infrastructure solutions . Work with people. Expand media presence both in print and tv. Rope in celebrities to instantly raise the vote share. Most NRI’s are sympathetic to the BJP. Top BJP brass should organise world tours and collect sufficient funds. Publicize the visit well ahead. This is the time to look at new avenues. BJP’s expansion will be a work in progress for next 20 years. Aim for atleast 15 seats next time from A.P.

The Congress Party President Ms.Sonia Gandhi seeing the imminent collapse of the UPA has set-up a seven member ‘crisis management’ team of foreigners based in a five star hotel in Delhi. This is a serious threat India’s national security.

While the names of all seven members are available with me, I am gathering the detailed antecedents of these dirty seven. The first member identified for me is an obscure UK-based journalist called Mr.David Green who has written for London tabloids on “snack foods”. He was easy to identify because he is often seen-by SPG at the residence of Ms.Sonia Gandhi reading secret files being made available to her by some Ministers and bureaucrats. Indian intelligence is being blocked by the Home Minister P.Chidambaram from investigating whether Ms.Green is an operative for British Intelligence, the MI-6.

    Raja Says:

    Guys,

There is a major churning going on in the BJP, which may eventually split the party. It appears moderate leaders like Arun Jaitley, Gopinath Munde, Yashwant Sinha, Mukhtar Naqvi, Venkiah Naidu are now openly advocating a “secular shift”. Old timers like M.M Joshi are advocating a more hardline approach. Modi/Varun are also being viewed as a liability. This time the churning is going not only within BJP but also the RSS – thus increasing the possibility of a split. After all it is the RSS glue which binds the party (just like the Gandhi family glue in INC) and if the glue starts withering away, the split would occur inevitably.
The real danger of BJP going the Janata Dal way and the country returning to unipolar politics is haunting the party. BJP has lost 4% vote share over 2004 even after contesting 50-60 more seats; falling to 18% this time – at a time when anti incumbency should have worked in its favour. Other than Karnataka, Jharkhand, and HP, BJP has lost voteshare in ALL OTHER STATES. In Bihar, BJP managed to increase its voteshare by a measly 0.9% even though muslims and OBCs were solidly behind NDA.
On the contrast, INC has gained every where including the states where INC/UPA is ruling viz Haryana, Delhi, Maharashtra, AP, TN, Delhi, Rajasthan, Assam, as well as in opposition ruled states like Gujarat, MP, WB, Kerela, UP, Bihar etc etc. In fact INC has increased its share by 2.2% to 28.9% this time.
The biggest shock is from UP where the voteshare of INC shot up to 18.7% whereas BJP has plummeted to 17.2%. Based on ground reports BJP leaders fear that INC may well be on the road to power in this state by 2012. In Bihar INC increased its share to 10.7% from 4.2% in 2004. UP is no mean achievement of INC, which even Rajiv Gandhi could not achieve in 1989.
2009 results have shown that BJP is fast losing appeal in ALL states. In 1998, BJP had won 18.5% of the voted in AP, whereas it has gone down to just 4.12% in 2009. Its voteshare went down drastically in TN, Kerela, Orissa, WB also thus dashing its hopes to grow in these states on its own. In fact had GJM not supported BJP in WB (Darjeeling seat) the share would have gone down further.
In the northern states of Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Rajasthan BJP lost by huge margins.
The urban voter who was the mainstay of BJP is totally disenchanted with the party. UPA has swept ALL urban areas in the length and breadth of the country. Even in Bangalore, the victory margin of BJP has reduced to a large extent. These leaders feel that it was not the muslim consolidation behind INC but the urban / rural disenchantment with BJP, which has led to the debacle. Most of these leaders feel that there was a silent undercurrent for the UPA cutting across all sections of the society. No wonder NDA constituents like JD(U), Akali and RLD are blaming BJP for the debacle.
I have got ground reports that JD(U) is preaparing a road map for coming out of NDA and allying with UPA by August, 2009. The difference in voteshare of the 2 national parties in Bihar is only 2.8%; added to the fact that RJD/LJP would never align with BJP. A JD(U)-INC alliance would get around 37-40% of the voteshare resulting in a landslide for the alliance.
What the BJP moderate faction fears is that BJP/NDA would face the brunt of anti incumbency during the state elections of 2010-2013. Further if INC manages to win UP in 2012 and ally with JD(U) in Bihar, they can very well reach the 272 mark on its own in 2014. Success of Navin Patnaik has also acted as a catalyst.
One of the moderate leaders in the party had pointed out that instead of criticizing the media, it would be prudent to carry out a self introspection. After all it was the media which had backed the party even after the Babri Masjid demolition, Mumbai riots and had put the entire blame on the INC, which then ruled both at the Centre and Maharashtra. Media was also partly responsible for the march of the BJP to power from 1996 to 1998/99, when it was aggressively reporting on the BJP ascendance and INC decline. Success of LKA’s Rath Yatra in 1989 was also primarily due to the mainstream media. This had also attracted the youth voters in large numbers during that time and it became clearly the favorite party of the urban areas.
Some of the RSS leaders too feel that RSS has to reinvent itself to attract the youth and the lower sections of the society. It has also the shed the “anti-minority” tag. For achieving this, it may have to reign in the VHP and Bajrang Dal. They too feel that inclusive politics is the need of the hour.
The aam aadmi sees the performance of the government not though the leaders but on the ground level delivery systems. Similarly the acceptance of the BJP/RSS would increase only if the ground level cadres and local/panchayat leaders are acceptable. Even know the ground level cadres and local/panchayat leaders make inflammatory speeches during elections, which turn off voters. Thus, even though the leadership of BJP/RSS try to keep hindutva on back burner, it is the local leaders drive off voters unknowingly. Just when the nation started to slowly forget the Gujarat riots, incidents like Kandhamal riots, Karnataka anti-christian riots, Varun hate speeches rekindle the fires.
INC had also played a masterstroke by withdrawing tickets to Tytler and Sajjan Kumar, whereas BJP continued to give tickets to the Kandhamal riot accused, thus turning of urban voters. A small shoe throwing incident showed how these fires can be rekindled by a small spark, which BJP could not foresee.
Issues like Telengana, Gorkhaland also do not bring votes. Instead of pointing out failures of the AP and TN governments, BJP was harping on the Telengana and Sethu Samudram issues; which the aam aadmi perceived as “divisive”. This is even after knowing very well the UPA had put the Sethu Samudram project on the back burner.
The moderate leaders of BJP/RSS feels that unless they adopts a right-centric approach, and induct new faces, which appeal to the youth, it is a matter of time when the tally party goes down to 2 digits. Youth would be attracted to the party only if hardliners tone down their approach. If BJP/RSS does not reinvent itself with the times, the split in the party is inevitable.

    Hi,
BJP should understand basic of politics, then BJP can do anything. Congress has understood basic of politics( went alone in Bihar and UP). I understand BJP’s problem, it is last election of Advani( India has never produced leader like Advani, those who understand basic of politics).

    1. Never compromise with base in politics. BJP has compromised base in WB,TN and AP. If alliace partner is very realiable then compromise with base up to a limit. BJP was very strong in 1998 in WB,TN and AP.

    Hi Raja,
You should learn basics of politics. What is fundamental principle of politics,
    1. Never compromise with your base.
    2. Have a permanent alliance or permanent enemity.

BJP is weak in TN,WB and AP because of Jay ho amma, Jay ho mamta, jay ho chandra babu naidu.
These parities broke relation with BJP in 2004. From 2004 to 2009 BJP was doing only “Jay ho amma, Jay ho mamta, jay ho naidu”. Why was BJP doing. These parties can not survive without the help of BJP and Congress.

In Orissa BJP did not do anything to create storng base. To have base you have to criticize to Naveen. Congress is very eak in Orissa. Next election he(Naveen) can not win.

Nitish will be fool of first order if he snaps relation with BJP. One day Congress will dump him. BJP will never dump him. There is only one stare where Congress is weak, that is Bihar. If Nitish and Mulayam goes with Cogress,In next election congress will win 350 seats all over the India. After 2014 election congress will not listen own alliance’s demand.

Top 40 leaders of BJP should go in each and every constituency of TN, should have protest against DMK.
Tamils are being killed in Srilanka and he is worry about own family members portfolio.
    1. South Channai — Sushma
    2. North Channai — Arun

    40. Pondicherry—- Yashwant Sinha
That way BJP can create own base in TN. BJP should not do
Jay Ho Amma. and should go alone in TN. It will make morale
up for state BJP leaders and local workers.

Yes Ritesh, But, BJP Polled 17% of Popular Vote in Orissa without any Alliance.
BJP should create A Strong Base Particularly in the tribal belt of Orissa.
In AP, BJP Should Hand over to New Young And Dynamic Faces Like Kishan Reddy and give retirement to Old War Horses.
In TamilNadu, BJP Should Really Work Hard.
Make Thirunavukkarasar as The Main Face of BJP in TN.
He has a good Knowledge of Tamil Voters.
Ask Him to contest for 2011 TN Assembly.
One should start working for Assembly elections now itself.

    ritesh gupta Says:

    Hi Raj,
In Orissa, BJP is strong. I will say, It was a bad luck of BJP in Orissa, BJP has not got any seats. If BJP works hard the way i think definitely BJP will get 5 to 10 seats in Orissa.

I did B.E from M.N.R Allahabad( In my hostel i met M.M. Joshi). After that i did one year job in Calcutta. After that i did M.Tech from I.I.T Kharagpur. Presently working as Senior Software Engg.( USA based software MNC) in South Chennai(L. Ganeshan). Before that i did worked in Hyd(USA based software MNC ). Before that i was in Gurgaon(USA based software MNC) and Noida(France based software MNC).

BJP is better than Congress in three aspect.
    1. Economic aspects
    2. Unity of Country
    3. Security of Country

I can not explain it, becuase it is big topic.

    Advani’s achievement
    =====================
    1. Advani has given democracy(congress was using 356 and now congress can not use 356 easily because of BJP) to India.
    2. He( supported Atal Bihari as PM, but he faced all the challenges) is real well wisher of party.
    3. Advani( if muslims population will go more than hindus, division of India is possible, not worry about muslims votes, brought pota, opposed 370, 370 is the Kasmir’s problem) has given security to country.
    4. Advani(Infrastructure–> River linking, ports, NHs etc., Power Plants, Railways, Airports) has given developement to country.
    5. He is very bold and politically strong( River linking is not easy plan, there is need of very strong political desire,Advani is having that desire, explosion of Neuclear blast)

Till now india has not got leader like Advani(better than Atal Bihari). This person has got this level from nothing. This is the great achievement of Advani.

Rahul’s achievement is, he is son of former PM and belongs to Gandhi’s family. No achievements. If any other person gets this status, he can do same thing or may be better than Rahul. Bacause of Rahul there is unity in Congress. Congress has seen very bad time without Gandhi’s family). No leader in congress will oppose Rahul Gandhi.

To create organisation like congress is not simple job. Advani(created BJP) has done it. I think, India will never get person like Advani in future.

    Ram Says:

    @Raj,
I accept raj that BJP would definitely work hard to start the innings in Tamilnadu.. When I discuss with the peoples in the organization, educated peoples they prefer BJP than congress, DMK, AIADMK. Educated youths prefer arun jaitley,Yaswath, apart from PRO-RSS leaders like modi etc… Definitely Tamilndu needs a good leader, star icon for the development of party. Also they should come forward to work for the peoples… I don’t want the rapid development… They should create a strong vote base in Kanyakumari, Coimbatore, Trichy where the BJP has the potential to develop..

  94. 94
    Ram Says:

    @ Nick,
I completely agree nick that something was wrong on the Electronic Voting Machine… Ofcourse, the Naveen chawla, he is not a Election commission head, he is a congress person…In Tamilnadu, the voting machine was programmed in such a way that if some one clicks the double leaf symbol(AIADMK) the beep sound and Light came from raising Sun symbol (DMK)… Even Technology wise developed Countries like USA,UK were still followed the paper ballot system while we practice Electronicaly… Another important fact is that after introducing the EVM in Tamilnadu, AIADMK never won the election…

  95. 95
    Sathish Says:

Instead of finding out stupid reasons ,BJP leaders and cadres need to work hard to expand its base .Otherwise the party will never been in power again….Some BJP supporters are so sad about Vaiko’s loss in TN.(even Vaiko and his party accepted the defeat) .I am more worried and upset about the loss in Kanyakumari where even the Mallu Hindu voters voted to DMK over BJP and CPM. The opportunistic opposition alliance made things worse for ADMK. BJP needs to try hard to build a bridge with ADMK to win a few seats in TN.Regarding the election allegations ,there were serious allegations against reddy brothers and their involvement in the outcome of Bellary seat as every one knows his sister Santhi actually lost the election by big margin.

  96. 96
    ritesh gupta Says:

    Hi Satish,
BJP should not have any relation with Amma.BJP should go alone in TN and it may have alliance for only 10 seats with small parties. If BJP wants to have relation with Amma, it should be 50%-50% seats. BJP has to build base in TN. I am telling, If BJP is able to get 20% votes in 20 seats of TN, then after the death of Karunanidhi, lot of strong leaders of DMK and AIADMK may join BJP. It happens in politics.

    1. BJP should have realiable alliance or oppourchunistic( not the cost of base)
    2. Amma can not survive without the help of BJP.
    3. Naidu can not survive without the help of BJP.
    4. Mamata can not survive without the help of BJP.

BJP will have to drop jay ho ammma, jay ho chandrababu, jay ho Mamta,

  97. 97
    RAJ Says:

Mr. Satish, Vaiko’s Loss Was A Shocker.
It was a clear Vengeance shown by the karunanidhi family which conducted the elections in TN.
People Expressing Shock over Vaiko’s Defeat has Nothing to do with being Pro BJP or otherwise.
It just reflects the Death of Democracy and A Mockery of Electoral Process in TamilNadu.

  98. 98
    Balu Says:

I am from TN and recently casted my vote in Pollachi in favour of AIADMK. As expected ,ADMK won the seat.I didn’t see any election fraud as most of the seats the results were as expected. In every election ,there are a few seats where the results might be differnt from what media predicts. It happened in 1998 and 1999 elections in TN.Just by seeing Vaiko’s loss ,don’t label entire TN election was a fraud.

  99. 99
    RAJ Says:

I foresee An Alliance of JD(U)-Congress and LJSP for 2010 Bihar Assembly Elections.
This Would Sound Alarm for BJP.
BJP Leaders in Bihar should Take Note of This and Seriously Start Preparing to Fight The Elections Independently from Now on.
For Jharkhand too, BJP Should Not remain Complacent and BringBack Babulal Marandi into BJP’s Fold.
BJP though has Won 8 out of 14 Lok Sabha Seats in Jharkhand, BJP Polled Only 27 % of Popular Vote. Therefore, BJP should Make sure that They would Poll over 35% in Jharkhand as Congress-JMM-LJSP-JD(U) combine has A Good Percentage of around 32% in Jharkhand.
